A Teacher Accidentally Called A Student The Wrong Gender….The Punishment Was Just Plain Wrong
When most of us when to school, the students could be divided into two separate categories; boys and girls. Now, there’s something like fifty possible categories.
Depending on how long a teacher has known a student they can’t possibly tell whether or not what gender a student would want to identify as. Which means if someone makes a one off mistake of this completely and totally silly rule that they should not by any means having their life ruined over it.
Political correctness has reached levels that no one would have imagined just 10 years ago. Everything is racist. Everything is sexist. White people are the worst. And on and on and on. Snowflake talk that used to only reside in college dorm rooms now dominates the news cycle and popular culture.
The latest liberal crusade that’s gaining traction is the effort to abandon science and completely change gender roles. Men can be women. Women can be men. Whatever you feel inside is what you are. Oh, and there are also roughly 100 genders and counting.
Bizarre to say the least. Hard to keep up. A teacher in England just learned the hard way that liberals are very serious about this gender nonsense.
From Breitbart: A teacher has been suspended and could lose his job after allegations he referred to a pupil who was born female, but “self-identifies” as a boy, as a girl.
A complaint was made against Joshua Sutcliffe, a Christian who teaches at a British state secondary school, after he said, “Well done girls” to the pupil and her friend in class, when he saw the pair working hard.
The maths teacher apologised when “corrected” by the pupil, and thought no more about the incident until six weeks later, according to the Mail on Sunday, when he was called to the head’s office and told he was suspended from teaching while the Oxfordshire school investigates a “transgender complaint” made against him.
You can’t be serious.
From The Daily Mail: According to documents seen by The Mail on Sunday, he also faces claims that he is breaching equality policies by referring to the pupil by name rather than as ‘he’ or ‘him’.
The £30,000-a-year teacher said he was ‘distraught’ and had been reduced to tears as teaching was his life, and he branded the actions of the school as ‘political correctness gone mad’.
Mr Sutcliffe, a maths graduate who gained his teaching qualifications at Exeter University, said he had no official instructions about how to address the student, but along with other staff decided to use the pupil’s chosen first name.
However, he has admitted that, as a Christian, he avoided using male pronouns such as ‘he’ and ‘him’. He believed this was consistent with the school’s code of conduct and equality policies to show respect and tolerance, and he said he had encountered no problems with this.
What is going on over in England? Sadly, we have plenty of that going on here in the U.S. Liberals in California want people in jail for misgendering.
