Not long after the San Fransisco courts verdict that outraged Americans across the country, Katie Steinle gets a second chance at justice.
To recap, a jury in San Fransisco shockingly acquitted Jose Ines Garcia Zarate of both murder and manslaughter charges after he shot and killed American citizen Kate Steinle in 2015.
The jury ended up convicting him on the lesser charge of a felon in possession of a firearm.
Something that seems like more of a horrible consolation prize.
This travesty of justice shocked and angered Americans.
With the public in an uproar, they made their anger clear in a social media boycott among other avenues.
Shortly after the verdict was announced, the attorney for Garcia Zarate sneered at the public. Calling anyone who felt the verdict was a failure of justice a racist, and also taking the opportunity to slam President Trump.
It looks like the Department of Justice is swooping in to pick up the pieces.
According CBS News, the Justice Department has issued an arrest warrant for Zarate on federal murder charges.
After letting poor Katie Steinle be used for the left immigration agenda, and after her family had to watch the California justice system fail her and them, they get a second chance at proper justice for Katie.
