These Celebs Are Refusing To Play Trump’s Inauguration…Boycott Time!
There is probably no greater state to perform on than one of a presidential inauguration. I’m not talking just about the honor of performing at such an engagement. More than that, I am taking about the exposure.
Think about it for a moment..the kind of exposure that someone gets performing on a televised broadcast where quite seriously the whole world is watching. You cannot buy that kind of publicity. It is sad that liberal musicians have become so distraught about losing the election that they can’t even bring themselves to perform for the entire country at Trump’s inauguration.
Inaugurations are all about unity and moving forward.
Apparently, that’s not something these musicians are interested in. Here is the list of people who have refused to perform for our next president. From IJ Review: Legendary British performer Sir Elton John was the first rumored performer for the big day, but that was quickly extinguished by the man himself. He told The Guardian:
“I don’t really want my music to be involved in anything to do with an American election campaign. I’m British. I’ve met Donald Trump, he was very nice to me, it’s nothing personal, his political views are his own, mine are very different, I’m not a Republican in a million years. Why not ask Ted f*cking Nugent? Or one of those f*cking country stars? They’ll do it for you.”
KISS frontman Gene Simmons, Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, The Chainsmokers, Garth Brooks…
Garth Brooks initially showed interest in playing some music for Trump’s crowd, telling TMZ that “It’s always about serving. It’s what you do.”
But Brooks later told Variety that he backed out. Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Aretha Franklin
We told you the other day about how Jackie Evancho agreed to play at the inauguration and her record sales skyrocketed.
You would think these big time celebs would understand that it financially benefits them to play.
